Senior Consultant

Warwick Economics & Development (WECD) is an independent public policy and social and economic development consultancy. The work of our team includes consultancy and research in economic development, social policies, science and innovation, skills and education, trade and investment, business support and enterprise, spatial economics and planning, organisational reviews and reforms.

We wish to recruit an exceptional candidate at the Senior Consultant level. The role will be based at our Birmingham (UK) office.

Core responsibilities at this level include:

• Supervising the delivery of workstreams of larger assignments and supporting junior team members in the delivery of their work
• Synthesising qualitative and quantitative research outputs
• Producing client-facing reports
• Managing project assignments efficiently and effectively
• Contributing to proposal/bid writing
• Conducting interviews, focus groups and roundtable discussions with stakeholders
• Representing the company in conferences and public engagements

You will have:

• A postgraduate degree, or equivalent experience, in economic development or economics, statistics, geography, regeneration/planning, social science - we are particularly interested to hear from applicants with experience in innovation economics, housing or health services research
• Very good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and their application
• Excellent report writing skills - on time/within required deadlines
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft suite of software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Fluency in English is essential and proficiency in one or more other languages would be an asset
• Strong work ethic and a positive can do attitude
